Holy Redeemer Catholic Church
Dear Holy Redeemer Parish Family,
In 1906 Sr. Scholastica Graham, RSM and two other sisters of Mercy came to North Bend to open the newly built Mercy Hospital and father Daniel Curley came as the first chaplain. They found no church building but the Church was already here in the Catholics who lived and prayed here. Soon they outgrew the small chapel as they celebrated Holy Eucharist together.
Our Parish is more than its buildings, more than its growth and accomplishments. She is mother to her people and daughter to God. She is friend to the community and home to believers and seekers. She nourishes the young and comforts the old.
Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly! Holy Spirit is given to us to inspire and empower us to think and choose with Christ's mind and heart, to cherish the dignity God has given each of us. The Holy Trinity gives us ministries, gifts and fruits for the individual and the common good. Faith gives us the vision to see the living Jesus and His truth and values by which we are to live. How? By praying and reading the Holy Scriptures under the encouragement and authoritative guidance of Christ's Church. By receiving Jesus' amazing graces in Holy Eucharist and the other Sacraments.
Enlightened by Divine Grace, we profess and joyfully live the Christian Faith as it is taught and practiced in the Catholic church.
"Grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. He made us pastors and teachers, to equip (God's) holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ," as St. Paul tells us. (Ephesians 4:7)
Jesus' Holy Spirit gives us God's love and power to tell people that He really loves them and to help everyone find in God their lasting home.
Our hope is that this web site will help us achieve the unity and love we proclaim. God bless our staff along with the many, many parishioners who volunteer and minister here in our Parish and Community.
We are all very proud of you - your strong faith, your concern for the less fortunate, your dedication to our families. As you look through this web site, we hope you will be proud to call these people YOUR PARISH FAMILY and BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN JESUS CHRIST!
God Really Loves You & So Do I.
